INTRODUCTION AND WELCOME.
Foremost, we [Excos of PERTAMA National and
State Level] bid Excellencies, Honourable and Distinguished Guests, ASSALAMUALAIKUM,
greetings and a very warm welcome, to this very auspicious occasion. An
assembly and discourse of this nature, especially among Tasawwuf or Sufi
practitioners, from foreign countries and the host country, indeed augurs well
for prospect of Tasawwuf propagation, longevity, understanding and acceptance
by the universal community. More than that, todays occasion will leave an
indelible imprint on the psyche of the Tarikat/Tasawwuf practitioners, and the
Powers that be, especially those of the host country, to witness this paradigm
shift, ever happening here at all!
Unlike
in other countries, the Tarikat/Tasawwuf practiced here, whose movement, has gone through a chequered past;
its movement suspiciously monitored, curtailed, even to the extent of being
banned from the face of the earth.
But at last, thanks to Almighty God, and of
course PERTAMA and all Excos, with its advent and endorsement by the Powers
that be, who, dared made the difference, we are here yet to see the light at
the end of the tunnel! Today’s official launching of PERTAMA, truly marks the
TRIUMPH and PREVALENCE of truth over FALSEHOOD. SUBHANALLAH!
Henceforth, a host of Islamic activities, whose
plans previously were on the back-burner, will come to see the light of day, in
full vigor, and we surely are looking forward to its implementation. In
addition, a discourse, such as this one held today, will surely not be the last
of its kind!
1.WHY PREACH ISLAM vis-a-vis
TARIKATTASAWWUF.
For the same reasons as earlier Prophets of
God did, to instill awareness among men, of their symbiotic relationship with
Almighty God. At the same time, they will live in communities of diverse
background, not necessarily their own, forging and forming relationships
through vocations and marriages. As communities and nations, they rule by
government of the people, prospering their nations whilst prospering their own
lot! God mentions in QS. Al-Mulk[67]:2, which states that:
‘He who created Death and Life, that He may
try which of you is best in deed and He is the Exalted in Might,
Oft-Forgiving.’
Basically, Man who were anointed by God as
His Vicegerents on earth are to live their lives by standards spelt out in Gods
holy Books as interpreted by His noble Prophets. These are His Jurisprudences
or Syari’ah embracing all His Commandments as well as his Prohibitions/Injunctions.
Since humanity being what there are, as
weak and vulnerable mortals, are predisposed and prone to both positive and
negative inclinations.
Therein lies the concept of pre-destiny and
salvation. Nothing is far nobler than the act of salvaging humankind from the
depths of doom, which fundamentally is the prime function of each and everyone
of us here, especially the Ulamas! In so doing, we are actually continuing the
noble functions and roles of the Prophet, pbuh., which admittedly is a great
undertaking!
With the so-called recognition and
acceptance of TarikatTasawwuf as an integral part of Islam, the door to the
path is now wide open for the Ummah. Along with Syari’ah, Tarikattasawwuf will
do wonders to their state of well-being,
in realizing their true worth in relation to their very purpose or creation and
living on God’s Earth. More importantly, they will live, embrace and defend
their religion in all earnestness and
sincerity. Please refer Alquran, Chapter 3, verse 101:
‘Whoever holds firmly to God will be shown
a way that is straight.’
Refer
Alquran, chapter 61, verse 9:
‘It is He Who has sent His Apostle with
Guidance and the Religion of Truth , that He may proclaim it over all religion,
even though the Pagans [Musyrikuun] may detest [it].
Also refer Chapter 61 , verse 11-14,
‘That ye believe in God and His Apostle,
and that ye strive [your utmost] in the cause of God, with your property and
your persons: that will be best for you, if ye but knew!’
‘He will forgive you your sins, and admit
you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens
of Eternity; that is indeed the supreme Achievement.’
‘And another [favor will He bestow], which
ye do love, - help from God and a speedy victory. So give the Glad Tidings to the Believers.’
‘O ye who believe! Be ye helpers of God’:
as said Jesus the son of Mary to the Disciples, ‘Who will be my helpers to [the
work of] God?’ Said the disciples, ‘We are God’s helpers!’ Then a portion of
the Children of Israel believed, and a portion disbelieved. But we gave power
to those who believed against their enemies; and they became the ones that
prevailed.’
Such were the calls and pleas made by the Prophets
of Allah in ensuring that the Ummahs
will live in full compliance with God’s religious stipulations, also in
mitigation against breaches of any kind! And we only need to replicate these
works of the Prophets of Allah SWT. ALHAMDULILLAH. WABILLAA HIT TAUFIQ .TABARAKALLAHU
RABBUL ‘ALAMIN!
